pregnant and postpartum during the summer

Summer brings light, warmth, and a kind of buzzing energy-but if you're pregnant or in the thick of new motherhood, this season can also feel...... heavy.

The heat amplifies everything-swollen feet, sticky onesies, overstimulated senses. Whether you're carrying a life inside or adjusting to life with a newborn in your arms, it can be hard to feel like you're "soaking up summer" when your body and mind are just trying to stay cool-literally and emotionally.

Here’s a gentle reminder:

🌿 You don’t have to do summer a certain way.

🌿 You’re allowed to slow down, stay in, and say no.

🌿 You can savor the small things-cool showers, fresh fruit, early morning quiet (if possible).

Sometimes summer’s brightness can highlight the contrasts-between your hopes and your reality, your energy and your exhaustion. It’s okay to feel a mix of gratitude and frustration, joy and overwhelm. Each feeling is valid, and all of it is part of this complex journey of motherhood.

Remember, community and connection can provide comfort and relief, even if it’s virtual or brief. Reach out when you need support, whether that’s a quick chat with a friend, a comforting podcast, or simply acknowledging your feelings in a journal. Your experience in this season is unique, but you are never alone.

Hydrate, rest when you can, and let the season unfold without pressure. This is a tender chapter-whether you're growing a baby or growing into your new identity as a mother. And in this heat, grace goes a long way.

You’re doing more than enough.
