Talking to children about IVF is important because it helps them understand that families can be created in different ways and that it is okay to ask questions about how babies are made. It teaches them about the beauty of science and the love that parents have for their children, regardless of how they came into the world. By having open and honest conversations, children can grow up with empathy and acceptance towards others' unique family situations, fostering a more inclusive and understanding society.
I recently had Ali Prato on my podcast. She is an award-winning journalist, host of the podcast Infertile AF and co-founded a safe and all-inclusive 24/7 community for anyone going through infertility called Fertility Rally. Her recent endeavor was the publication of her book-Work of ART, a children's book about IVF.
On this episode we chat about her journey with secondary infertility and how it led her to contribute her talents to infertility awareness.
